Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using PixelHush (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

PixelHush is developed and operated by an independent developer ("we", "us", "our"). The Service includes the macOS application, editor extensions (VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Antigravity), Chrome extension, and the website at pixelhush.dev.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use PixelHush on your devices for your own professional or personal use.

You may not:

— Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense the application or its components.
— Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the macOS application binary.
— Use the Service to build a competing product.
— Circumvent any license validation or access controls.
— Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. All payments are processed by Polar.sh. By subscribing you also agree to Polar.sh's Master Services Terms and Checkout Buyer Terms.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period — we do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial periods.

Refunds: If you are unsatisfied within 14 days of your first payment, contact us at privacy@pixelhush.dev for a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers. Price changes do not apply to the current billing period.

PixelHush processes your files locally on your device. You retain full ownership of all your code, configuration files, and secrets. We claim no rights over your content.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use PixelHush with any files that belong to your employer or clients.

You agree not to use PixelHush to:

— Violate any applicable law or regulation.
— Infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
— Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system or network.
— Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
— Automate the creation of accounts to circumvent license restrictions.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these rules.

PixelHush is a local-first tool — the core hiding functionality works entirely on-device and does not depend on our servers. License validation and account features require internet access.

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) with reasonable notice. If we discontinue a paid plan, we will issue a pro-rata refund for the unused portion.

The PixelHush name, logo, macOS application, and website are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not use our trademarks or branding without prior written consent.

Open-source components of PixelHush (the editor extensions) are licensed under the MIT License and are governed by their respective license terms.

We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including data breaches, lost profits, or reputational harm — arising from your use of or inability to use PixelHush.

Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim, or $10, whichever is greater.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify active paid subscribers by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in courts of competent jurisdiction, as required by local consumer protection laws.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
